With a clear, light grey interface, CrossDJ Free looks good. There are two decks, with waveforms displayed for each. Above the decks both waveforms are shown together, so you can easily see how beats match up. There are quite a lot of controls squeezed into CrossDJ Free's interface, but they are all useful. Each deck has cue and play controls, and you can save up to six play locators for each track.

Like DJ Studio 5, djay 2 gives a lot more tools for free than you would expect. In fact, a lot of users say that the paid version is actually not as good as the free version. djay 2 has some buggy issues, but the devs say they are working on a new mobile version for the coming year.

Music Maker Jam also includes a free pro-FX equalizer and lets you combine samples to create unique sounds. You can add harmonies, create sub-loops, and lay down your own vocals on top of a backing track. The app also includes a free virtual currency to buy more loops or you can just buy currency with in-app purchases. One really cool feature is the community integration which lets you connect to other musicians, producers, or influencers. We also appreciate the capacity to share songs directly to SoundCloud, Facebook, WhatsApp, or Instagram.

Within each playback pane, you get an EQ and FX box with the basic suite of functions, including fades, reverb, and delays. The app can automatically pull songs from Google Drive, One Drive, and Soundcloud. You get 16 free samples and a 20-sample pack with beats from different genres like EDM, hip-hop, dubstep, etc.

Unfortunately, not all of the awesome tools are free out of the box. Some of the more advanced features and effects require you to buy the full version of the app. However, what you get for free is pretty awesome and is good enough to run a house party or other get-togethers.

Apple users who want a shot at mixing tunes, can enjoy all of the great features that Studio.HD app has to offer. The app lets you record 24 tracks of audio. You can loop, mix, add effects and edit them according to your preferences. The edit feature has numerous options such as slicing, stretching, copying, cropping and pasting your tunes. There is one drawback to this app though and that is the price. It cost $9.99 to use since it is not free. But if you love mixing music, this application is well worth it.

With an easy to use interface and tons of great features, the Cross DJ Free-Mix Your Music app is waiting for all mixers to use it. There is pitch changing feature that you will love. You can also loop and change the beats per minute on tunes as well. Although the app is free, the paid version has 15 sound effects and other cool features.

The range of features in Traktor is huge but notably it supports up to four decks, each of which can store up to 64 samples has some excellent sync controls that track tempos, beatgrids, and musical key.
