Final Space - EPIZOD...

Final Space is an adult animated space opera comedy drama television series created by Olan Rogers and developed by Rogers and David Sacks. The series involves an astronaut named Gary Goodspeed and his immensely powerful alien friend Mooncake, and focuses on their intergalactic adventures as they try to save the universe from certain doom.

Final Space - EPIZOD...

The series aired on TBS on February 26, 2018.[1] It then moved to Cartoon Network's late-night programming block, Adult Swim, started with the second season on June 24, 2019, followed by the third and final season on March 20, 2021.[2]

Animation for the series is handled by ShadowMachine in Los Angeles and outsourced to Canadian studio Jam Filled using the Toon Boom Harmony software. The show uses NASA space imagery for the space backgrounds.[27]

Impressions about the first episodes were also mixed, with criticism focused on Gary's humor. Collider's Dave Trumbore gave the series four out of five stars, praising the cast, the series' uniqueness and its originality.[53] The Hollywood Reporter said "the new animated series from TBS misses the mark, and will likely float off into space".[54] The A.V. Club gave the series a C+ grade.[55] Reviewing the first two episodes, Den of Geek gave them a score of 3.5 out of 5 stars.[51] IndieWire gave a B+ grade.[50] The Daily Beast received the series favorably, comparing its potential with Adventure Time and BoJack Horseman.[56] Robert Lloyd of the Los Angeles Times praised the show for the space backgrounds and Gary's relationship with Mooncake, but criticized for being "not as clever as Futurama or The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy or Galaxy Quest, series with which it shares certain features" and for the comedy which "leans toward things adolescent boys find funny."[57] Screen Rant wrote favorably of the series, praising TBS' decision to release the first two episodes 11 days before the series premiere, and describing it as a "very silly comedy," comparing protagonist Gary to Homer Simpson and Philip J. Fry.[58]

Most of the crew is watching television on Hue as Gary enters, asking where Mooncake is. Gary believes that Mooncake is going through puberty, due to certain physical changes taking place. Gary exclaims that he'll have "The Talk" with Mooncake, when Little Cato points out that he's lost on what "The Talk" is, Gary decides to have it with both Little Cato and Mooncake. Right as Gary finishes Mooncake is ripped by a red light out of the Crimson Red and into space.

Tribore enters Sals' Watering-hole looking for new members to join The Resistance. Gary contacts Tribore about how to open a dimensional key, but Tribore is their final dead end, as Gary is stuck with no way to get to Mooncake.

Gary is still floating in space, with 8 minutes of oxygen left. Gary asks H.U.E. what he would do with only 8 minutes left to live, to which H.U.E. answers he would go see Paris. Gary actually finds this amusing. Gary himself would do anything with Quinn to make the most of those 8 minutes.

It's sad to think the story could end here, far before the narrative of the show can be completed and especially at the point where it feels like Final Space has finally, fully actualized itself and become the show that it's always wanted to be. But if this is the last Final Space review that I ever write, I just wanna say... remember when I wrote my first review of the show? (You might or you might not, and if you don't, well, thanks for joining me on the journey anyway.) I recall watching the first two chapters due to my contractual obligation as a human being to be entranced by the ball of human sunshine that is Olan Rogers, and I also recall treating the show with a naive skepticism. But I don't think, looking back, that that was a poor judgment call; I was naive of the show's future, and the show was naive alongside me.

Final Space made its official debut on TBS on 2018-02-26. Prior to this, the first two episodes were available on the TBS app and website on 2018-02-15 and a sneak peek was shown on TNT on 2018-02-17. After airing on TBS, the pilot episode aired on TBS's sister channel Cartoon Network under it's hit adult-oriented late night programming block Adult Swim. The rest of the first season aired on the channel in a similar way. On the same day, the series formerly airs on Teletoon's Teletoon at Night programming block at 10:00 PM, until the block ended on March 31, 2019 with the 24/7 Adult Swim channel launched a day later on April 1, 2019. The series then aired on the same channel during the TBS 2D animated programming block on June 28, 2021, in which the final three episodes were aired on the block. The series aired for the last time on the channel after July 12, 2021.

Starting from the 2nd season, the series moved first-run airings to Adult Swim, while also being simulcast on TBS a week later. This is a reversal of the airing pattern from the first season. On the same day, it also aired in Canada on the 24/7 channel Adult Swim at 1:00 AM. The series finale aired on June 14, 2021. The series was cancelled after three seasons of September 10, 2021, due to the merger of WarnerMedia and Discovery in May 2021. Following the series cancellation, Adult Swim continued to air reruns of the series until November 20, 2021, making this show, and Home Movies, no longer airs on the channel when the rights expired, once thee last rerun has aired.

The series became available to streamed on HBO Max, its first two seasons were added on March 1, 2021 and it was followed by the third and final season on November 13 of the same year. The series was later removed from the streamer on July 1, 2022, thus making this series unavailable to watch on the streamer, a similar fashion happened the series' removal of the schedule.

Final Space is a serialized intergalactic space saga about an astronaut named Gary and his adorable, planet-destroying friend, Mooncake. The series will follow their adventures as they embark on a quest to unlock the mystery of "Final Space", the place where the entire universe ends.

The Warner Brothers and Discovery merger resulted in many cuts and cancellations, with Adult Swim's Final Space being one of the casualties. Despite ending on one of the show's biggest cliffhangers, Warners canceled the series after airing its final Season Three episode in 2021. Final Space creator Olan Rogers has spent the past year trying to get a final go at telling the last Final Space story regardless of medium, but the filmmaker says he's reached a dead end. 041b061a72
